Krueger to host Medicare virtual workshops in March and April

HARRISBURG, March 9 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, will host two virtual Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight events in coordination with Delaware County MEDI counselors.

The first event, Medicare 101, will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, March 18. This virtual event is for those approaching the age of 65 or who plan to enroll in Medicare soon. This presentation covers the various parts of Medicare, the pros and cons of traditional Medicare versus Medicare Advantage Plans, when to sign up for the different parts of Medicare, basics of Supplemental Plans and extra financial help covering Medicare costs.

The second will address how to do a drug or Medicare Advantage Plan comparison. It will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 4. This presentation gives you a useful skill to use every fall during open enrollment when you should check to see whether your current drug or Advantage Plan is still the most cost-effective one for you in the coming year.

“I am happy to continue hosting these monthly events with the help of Delaware County MEDI counselors,” said Krueger. "Signing up for Medicare can be an overwhelming experience. My hope is to make the process as smooth as possible."

The events will be held via Zoom, and registration is required. To RSVP, call Krueger’s office at 610-534-6880 or email RepKrueger@pahouse.net.
