Krueger announces grant to improve park in Nether Providence Township

FOLSOM, March 15 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, announced today the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development has awarded $148,600 to Nether Providence Township to make improvements to Hepford Park.

“I am pleased to see this funding coming into the 161st District,” Krueger said. “Our parks are a place for residents to gather, play, relax and enjoy our natural world. Making repairs and improvements to Hepford Park will benefit everyone.”

The funding will be used to build a new playground and dugouts for baseball fields, redesign the parking lot, and for repairs and repainting fencing, concession stand improvements, shade trees and signage.

The Nether Providence Board of Commissioners wants to thank Representative Krueger for her efforts leading to today’s grant announcement,” said Kaitlin McKenzie, president of the Board of Commissioners in Nether Providence. “These monies will go towards playground expansion and general improvements at Hepford Park and are aligned with the board’s vision to make all of our township parks more accessible and enjoyable for our residents.
