Krueger applauds traffic safety grant for Aston Township

HARRISBURG, July 14 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, announced today that Aston Township was awarded $370,960 in state funding through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s “Green Light-Go” program.

The funding will be used for the interconnection of traffic signals along Concord Road.

“This program helps communities make necessary safety improvements,” Krueger said. “It will help Aston Township relieve congestion and improve traffic flow, which will lead to fewer accidents, keeping our residents safer. I am pleased to see the township receive this state funding.”

Green Light-Go grants are provided as reimbursements to municipalities for updates to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals.

Grant funding through the Green Light-Go program may be utilized for a range of operational improvements including, but not limited to, LED technology installation, traffic signal retiming, developing special event plans and monitoring traffic signals, as well as upgrading traffic signals to the latest technologies.
