Krueger announces funding for area fire, EMS companies

HARRISBURG, Feb. 7 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware announced $173,715 in state funding to support fire and EMS services in the 161st Legislative District.

The grants originate from the Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, administered by the Office of State Fire Commissioner.

Krueger said the money can be used for facility upgrades, equipment, debt reduction, training and certification, education and public outreach, and recruitment and retention efforts.

“Congratulations to these hard-working firefighters who keep our communities safe in the face of danger,” Krueger said. “When lives are on the line, it’s vital that we support fire and EMS operations with as many avenues for funding as possible – aiding their efforts to reduce the loss of life and property in our communities.”
