Krueger, Kane to host free senior legal workshop April 25

BROOKHAVEN, April 4 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger and Sen. John Kane are hosting a Senior Legal Clinic with Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 25 at Brookhaven Municipal Center.

At the workshop, senior residents 60 or older who meet LASP’s income guidelines can get help with simple wills, durable Powers of Attorney and healthcare directives at no cost.

Registration for the clinic is required. Interested residents can ask a question or sign up by contacting Erika Felpel at efelpel@lasp.org or 484-275-0672.

“Many seniors in our community face challenges in accessing legal assistance due to fixed incomes or not knowing who to trust,” Krueger, D-Delaware, said. “This clinic is designed to help seniors understand their rights under the law and help them make informed decisions about their future, so that their wishes are clearly addressed and respected. I encourage anyone who is interested or who knows someone who needs this help to sign up.”

"It's vital that we provide our seniors with the resources they need to navigate the complex legal landscape," Kane, D-Delaware/Chester, stated. "This workshop will greatly aid our seniors in overcoming legal obstacles and guarantee they have access to crucial legal services for making major decisions. We're thrilled to host this free clinic with the help of Legal Aid, and welcome all seniors from our district to take advantage of this opportunity."

Krueger and her office staff will be at the clinic to provide information on state-related programs and services. Questions also can be directed to Krueger’s office at 610-534-6880 or Kane’s office at 610-447-5845.
