Krueger announces $189,652 in fire and EMS grants

improve facilities and equipment, to train, educate, and recruit new and existing emergency responders, to reduce debt, or to build new facilities.

“The health and safety of our communities rests on the ability of our fire and EMS companies to respond quickly and effectively during emergencies,” said Krueger. “These grants will enable ours to make important improvements to ensure they’re prepared when we need them.”

The grants awarded are as follows:

  • Aston Township Fire Department, $43,136
  • Brookhaven Fire & Rescue Co., $27,632
  • Chester Township Fire Co., $14,075
  • Garden City Fire Co., $16,136
  • Middletown Fire Co., $17,167
  • S M Vauclain Fire Co., $12,838
  • South Media Fire Co., $15,724
  • Upland Fire Co., $12,632
  • Woodlyn Volunteer Fire Co., $30,312

The funds come from the State Fire Commissioner’s Office as part of the state’s annual Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services grant program.
