Daley announces $850K in state grants for Whitemarsh Township projects

HARRISBURG, Dec. 19 – State Rep. Mary Jo Daley today announced that $850,000 in state funding has been awarded to support critical infrastructure improvements benefiting Whitemarsh Township and the surrounding community.

Funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority through the state’s Local Share Account Program, which is derived from taxes paid by Pennsylvania casinos.

“These grants will help Whitemarsh Township address aging infrastructure and make proactive investments that protect public safety, the environment and taxpayers,” said Daley, D-Montgomery. “By tackling these issues now, we can prevent more costly repairs in the future and ensure our local systems remain reliable as the community continues to grow.”

The grants include:

  • Whitemarsh Township – Hain Drive to Pine Tree Road Stormwater Pipe Rehabilitation Project: $425,000 to rehabilitate more than 1,500 linear feet of deteriorating stormwater piping. The project will reinforce aging infrastructure, reduce safety hazards, and avoid the need for more extensive repairs down the road.
  • Whitemarsh Township Authority – Morris Road Pump Station Renovation and Upgrades: $425,000 to renovate and upgrade a critical wastewater pump station, including pump replacements, electrical and control system upgrades, and protective improvements to ensure long-term reliability and environmental protection.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority board is an independent state agency created to administer Pennsylvania’s economic development and infrastructure programs.
