As your state representative, the work I do in Harrisburg starts with the conversations we have here at home. That's why I'm excited to introduce a new series of Walk and Talks—an opportunity for us to connect one-on-one in an informal setting while we literally walk and talk.

Whether you have questions about state government, want to discuss an issue affecting your family or community, or simply want to share what's on your mind, I'm here to listen and discuss it.

I've set aside times for 20–30 minute walks at locations throughout the district, including the Dormont business district or Dormont Park, Uptown Mt. Lebanon, Armstrong Park in Baldwin Township, Gilfillan Park in Upper St. Clair, and the Castle Shannon business district.

Tuesday, August 11: Pop-Up Office Hours at Dormont Library from 6:30-8 p.m.
Wednesday, August 12: Mt. Lebanon Lions Club Farmers Market from 4-7 p.m.
Wednesday, August 26: Pop-Up Office Hours at Upper St. Clair McLaughlin Run Activities Center (MAC) from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Friday, August 28: Mt. Lebanon Final Friday from 6-9 p.m.

And we are always ready to serve you at our district office located at 650 Washington Road, Suite 102 – where new signage makes it even easier to find us! We’re here Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In addition, this Monday, July 27, we’re hosting a special event at our office. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you’re invited to stop in and talk with staff from the Allegheny County Treasurer’s office! They'll be here to answer questions and provide information on Homestead/Farmstead tax exclusions, senior citizen tax relief, hunting, fishing, and dog licenses, and more. No appointment is needed – just stop in with your questions!

Unclaimed Property Assistance

Did you know that the Pennsylvania Treasury receives hundreds of millions of dollars in unclaimed property each year? This money comes from a variety of sources, including things like forgotten bank accounts, missed payroll checks, credit balances, and more.

Earlier this month, my office began sending letters to constituents letting them know the Treasury has indicated it may be holding money that belongs to them. We will continue to send out these letters, and we’ll be expanding our outreach even further over the next few months.

If you receive an unclaimed property letter and have any questions, or if you’d like to learn more about how to search for you or a loved one, my staff is here to help.

Working with state leaders to deliver results

The recently approved state budget isn't just about numbers on a page—it's about supporting the programs and services that make a real difference in our communities.

Last week, I joined Governor Josh Shapiro, legislative leaders, and colleagues from across the region to highlight what the 2026-27 state budget means for Pennsylvanians.

As a former teacher, I'm especially proud that this budget includes a historic investment in public education—helping schools hire more teachers, expand student support services, and create better opportunities for students across the Commonwealth.

I also had the opportunity to visit the Citizen Science Lab with Lt. Governor Austin Davis and Allegheny County Councilman Dan Grzybek. Seeing how the organization inspires young people through science, technology, and hands-on learning reinforced why programs like these matter. That's one reason I'm proud the new state budget includes $62 million for Violence Intervention and Prevention Grants, helping support organizations like the Citizen Science Lab that are creating brighter futures for young people while strengthening our communities.

In The Community

One of the best parts of serving as your state representative is to see firsthand the important work taking place in our region.

On Monday, I joined the House Majority Policy Committee, the Pittsburgh Film Office, and regional leaders to discuss Pennsylvania's Film Tax Credit Program. Attracting film and television productions creates jobs for local workers, supports small businesses, and generates economic activity.

The next day, I was proud to volunteer at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. It was inspiring to see the scale of their operation and the dedication of the staff and volunteers who work every day to make sure food reaches families throughout our region. Their work makes a real difference in the lives of thousands of Pennsylvanians.
