Building Trust in Health Care
I’m excited to announce that I co-sponsored and cast my vote for H.B. 409, a groundbreaking effort to ensure that every Pennsylvanian receives timely and accurate health information.
This bill updates the Patient Test Result Information Act, ensuring that patients receive timely and accurate test results while strengthening oversight by the Department of Health. It’s a critical step forward in empowering Pennsylvanians to make informed decisions about their health and fostering trust in our health care system.
H.B. 409 received strong bipartisan support in the Pennsylvania House. This milestone reflects our shared commitment to improving health care outcomes across the Commonwealth.
But this victory is just the beginning. As the bill heads to the Senate, we remain dedicated to working with our colleagues to ensure it becomes law and continues to make a positive impact on health care for all Pennsylvanians.
Welcoming Erie’s Future Pharmacists to the Capitol
This week, we welcomed pharmacy students from LECOM to the Capitol. It is always encouraging to see young, motivated individuals from Erie making the journey to Harrisburg and engaging with our state government.
Their visit highlights both the talent emerging from our community and the growing importance of health care innovation in our region. We remain committed to supporting local initiatives and educational opportunities that not only empower our future professionals but also strengthen our collective community.
Join Us for a Community Event on Responsible Firearm Ownership
You’re invited to an important community event we’re hosting in partnership with the Erie County Sheriff's Office. On Wednesday, April 30, from 6-8 p.m., we’ll be gathering at the Greene Township Municipal Building (9333 Tate Road, Erie) to discuss your rights and responsibilities as a legal firearm owner.
This event is a valuable opportunity to get informed, ask questions, and ensure you have the knowledge needed to stay safe and compliant. By advancing responsible firearm ownership, we are building a safer environment for everyone.
Spread the word and bring a friend—we look forward to seeing you there!
Opportunity to Strengthen Our Communities
We wanted to take this opportunity to provide some vital information about the Neighborhood Assistance Program, a tax credit initiative administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development. This program encourages businesses to invest in projects that improve distressed areas across the Commonwealth, fostering positive change in our communities.
The NAP offers several programs designed to assist low-income and distressed neighborhoods, promote positive health outcomes, and enhance the safety and welfare of residents. Importantly, proposed projects must not result in the displacement or forced relocation of low-income individuals or households.
The program’s goals include:
Applications for the NAP must be complete and submitted by 5:00 PM on May 30, 2025.
For more details about the program and application process, please visit the DCED website.
Supporting Our Veterans
We remain steadfastly committed to ensuring that all eligible veterans receive the benefits they have earned through their dedicated service.
If you or someone you know qualifies for the Amputee and Paralyzed Veterans Pension program through the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, you may be entitled to a monthly payment of $150.
This program is a vital way to honor the sacrifices made by our veterans and provide them with the support they deserve.
If you have questions or need assistance with the application process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office. We’re here to help.
Exciting Infrastructure Progress in Harborcreek Township
We wanted to express our gratitude and excitement regarding the Jordan Road Bridge Replacement Project in Harborcreek Township. This $5.2 million investment is a significant step toward improving safety and reliability for everyone who relies on this vital connection over Interstate 90.
Our team joined the PA Secretary of Transportation to showcase this vital project for our region. Investing in local infrastructure like this is essential for Erie County’s growth and development. I’m proud to see this project moving forward to benefit our community.
