Helping Pennsylvania Homeowners
I’m pleased to share that my bill, H.B. 1972, passed the House unanimously and now moves to the state Senate.
If enacted, H.B. 1972 would strengthen protections for homeowners navigating insurance claims by limiting surprise charges, providing clearer information for informed decision-making, and strengthening safeguards against conflicts of interest, helping ensure property owners receive a full and fair recovery after a loss.
I’ll keep you updated as the bill moves through the legislative process.
Governor’s Budget Prioritizes Working Families
I wanted to share a brief update following Gov. Shapiro’s recent budget address. I support the plan’s focus on sustaining school funding, expanding access to affordable health care, and putting more money back into the pockets of working families across Pennsylvania.
These priorities matter for our community: steady school funding supports students and teachers, affordable health care eases family budgets, and targeted tax and relief measures make everyday life more manageable for Erie households.
Click the video below to hear my thoughts on what the budget could mean for our community.
During the governor’s budget address, Captain Tom Lenox of the Erie Police Department was recognized for his outstanding work with youth through Erie PAL. His dedication to mentoring young people and fostering positive relationships in our neighborhoods makes Erie stronger.
I’m proud to support the governor’s proposed increase in funding for community policing and programs like PAL, which help keep our neighborhoods safe while providing constructive opportunities for our youth.
