Donahue: Over $7 million in state funding awarded for infrastructure improvements

HARRISBURG, Aug. 18 – The state Transportation Department has approved four projects totaling over $7 million in Multimodal Transportation Funding for infrastructure improvements in the 113th Legislative District, state Rep. Kyle Donahue announced today.

“Investing in our transportation infrastructure means investing in safer roads, stronger connections and a better quality of life for our communities,” said Donahue. “These four projects will make important improvements across the 113th District, and I’m proud to see more than $7 million in Multimodal Transportation Funding supporting projects that will improve transportation for the residents, workers and motorists who rely on these roads every day.”

The projects that received funding include:

  • $2,999,971 to replace the Ash Street Bridge.
  • $2 million for widening and signage improvements on Montage Mountain Road.
  • $1.5 million for pedestrian access and drainage improvements on the University of Scranton campus.
  • $1,311,593 for infrastructure improvements on North Main Avenue and Green Ridge Street.

The funding is being awarded through PennDOT’s Multimodal Transportation Fund Statewide Competitive Funding Program. The program provides financial assistance for priority transportation investments across Pennsylvania and is designed to ensure that residents have access to a safe and reliable transportation system.
