O’Mara: $2.4 million in state grants awarded for projects in 165th District

HARRISBURG, Sept. 15 — State Rep. Jennifer O’Mara, D-Delaware, today announced that $2.4 million in new state grants has been awarded for six projects in the 165th Legislative District.

The grant recipients are:

  • Central Delaware County Authority: $200,000 for sanitary sewer rehabilitation.
  • Delaware County Economic Development Corp.: $150,000 for teaching equipment at Pennsylvania Institute of Technology.
  • Delaware County Industrial Development Authority: $500,000 for cooling and heating system improvements at Delaware County Community College.
  • Morton Borough: $945,000 for municipal building renovations.
  • Swarthmore Borough: $500,000 for library renovations.
  • Upper Providence Township Sewer Authority: $150,000 for a pump station generator.

“In Harrisburg, I take my job as an advocate for Delaware County very seriously,” O’Mara said. “Our municipalities and authorities rely on state dollars like these to make local projects happen. They’re all worthwhile projects, and I’m thrilled to see our community benefit from this valuable state assistance.” 

The grants come from Local Share Account funds which are approved and distributed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
