Game Commission Considering New Hunting Opening Day

Pennsylvania’s opening day of deer season is a time-honored tradition woven into our hunting heritage, family customs, and communities in Pike and Monroe counties.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is considering a potential change to the start of opening day to deer season to the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

This is an important decision, and public input matters. I encourage hunters and residents alike to contact the Game Commission’s Board of Commissioners and share their perspectives on this proposed change. You can email the Board of Commissioners at pgcboard@pa.gov
