Sanchez brings home funding for new public works truck

ROCKLEDGE, June 5 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez, D-Montgomery, worked with Rockledge Borough council members to secure a $125,000 grant to purchase a new work truck.

Councilman Dave Sheppard, chair of the Public Works Committee, contacted Sanchez’s office about pursuing grant opportunities since the borough’s dump truck at the time was starting to deteriorate. With Sanchez’s support, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development awarded the borough the full amount of funding requested. The grant will cover the cost of the new vehicle, lettering, maintenance and more.

"Helping to deliver this funding for Rockledge Borough will ensure that borough workers can safely and effectively do their jobs while benefitting residents who depend on the services they provide,” Sanchez said. “This new work truck will help carry out jobs like snow removal and critical infrastructure repairs, ensuring these projects go smoothly and quickly. It’s always a win when state dollars can go to work to keep local infrastructure modern and dependable.”

"The old truck was breaking down and was in need of repair or replacement. We sincerely thank Ben for his support and dedication to the residents of Rockledge Borough,” Sheppard said.
