Sappey to host Protecting Pollinators event Thursday

State Rep. Christina Sappey, D-Chester, invites residents of the 158th Legislative District to attend her virtual Protecting Pollinators event at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 22.

“This Earth Day, I feel it is important to recognize the impact of pollinators and how to protect them,” Sappey said. “Nearly one third of crops in the U.S. are reliant on pollinators. As a member of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, I want to ensure the public is aware of the role they play in our food sources, environment and economy, and actions individuals and businesses can take to keep pollinator populations healthy.”

Panelists for this discussion include:

  • Stephen Repasky, president, Pennsylvania State Beekeepers Association.
  • Meagan Hopkins-Doerr, coordinator, Master Gardeners of Chester County, Penn State Extension.
  • Sean Quinn, preserve manager, ChesLen Preserve.

Residents interested in receiving a link to attend will need to RSVP on Sappey’s website, by contacting her district office at 484-200-8264, or by emailing repsappey@pahouse.net.
