Sappey: Drive-thru event connects seniors with resources

KENNETT SQUARE, May 19 – State Rep. Christina Sappey hosted a drive-thru event for senior citizens last week at Unionville Community Park. Residents stopped by to receive reusable bags filled with information about state and local programs and services for older adults.

“It was a beautiful spring day and so wonderful to be out talking with our seniors about the numerous programs and services available to them. Our team really enjoys opportunities like this to answer questions and listen to concerns,” Sappey said.

Attendees received information from the state Department of Aging and several area agencies, including the Senior Law Center, Southeastern PA Legal Aid, Chester County Department of Aging, La Comunidad Hispana, American Red Cross and Oasis Senior Advisors.

Sappey’s office can help with many state-related senior programs and services, including Property Tax/Rent Rebate applications, reduced-fee car registrations for retired individuals, questions related to Real ID and more. Materials from the event are still available by request. Anyone interested may call 484-200-8264 to reserve a bag.
