I understand the importance of reopening small businesses and getting Pennsylvanians back to work as soon as possible, but also addressing the serious threat that COVID-19 poses to public health. I voted on measures that would simultaneously preserve the health of all Pennsylvanians while taking the necessary steps toward reopening our commonwealth.

  • Voted to provide relief to employers whose unemployment claims are related to COVID-19 (HB 68).

  • Voted to allow remote notaries to operate to ensure safe transactions were still able to occur for car sales, end of life preparation and other essential documents. (HB 1564, HB 2370 and SB 841).

  • Cosponsored legislation to expand access for small businesses and non-profit organizations to the state COVID-19 Working Capital Access Loan Program.

  • Voted in favor of grants to support businesses in our food supply chain prevent the spread of COVID-19 (HB 2435).

  • Voted for HB 2412 to allow limited real estate to reopen with specific safety guidelines in place. I also encouraged the governor to adjust his order, which took effect on Tuesday, May 19.

  • Voted for HB 2506 which would allow for limited outdoor restaurant operations while a county is under yellow or green designations with specific safety guidelines in place.

  • Wrote to the governor urging him to permit retail curbside services statewide, including counties that are still red zones. This could be done with all necessary health protocols as is currently the case with curbside food pickup.
