Schlossberg elected Majority Caucus Chair

HARRISBURG, Feb. 28 – State Rep. Mike Schlossberg today was elected by his peers to serve as Majority Caucus Chair for the 2023-24 legislative session.

“It has been an honor to serve as Caucus Administrator for the past 2 years. Being part of this leadership team allowed me to fight for the people of Parkland and Allentown.

“Moving up to Majority Chair, I look forward to working with my colleagues on our shared efforts to protect people’s access to health care and mental health care, champion economic policies that favor Pennsylvania’s working families, fully and equitably fund our schools and advocate for meaningful measures to make our communities safer.

“I also look forward to increasing my ability to fight for the people of Parkland and Allentown to fix Pennsylvania’s broken mental health care system, make sure every student has access to world-class education regardless of zip code, and protect our communities from mega-development. As Caucus Chair, I will play an important role in advancing the majority’s agenda and ensuring the people of Parkland and Allentown benefit.

“I have served in leadership in the minority and know firsthand that we can either work together on what benefits all our constituents, or we can engage in pointless business as usual and score cheap political points for powerful special interests and culture wars. I would rather make progress and I look forward to working with the House Majority, Senate Republicans and Governor Josh Shapiro to make that happen,” Schlossberg said.

The Caucus Chair is part of the leadership team in the House of Representatives. The role of the Caucus Chair is to prepare other members for legislation being considered in the House of Representatives, run caucus meetings, and ensure legislators can effectively represent their districts.
