Eli Lilly’s multi-billion-dollar facility is culmination of state and local efforts to attract business
Rep. Mike Schlossberg January 30, 2026 | 11:33 AM
HARRISBURG, Jan. 30 - State Rep. Mike Schlossberg, D-Lehigh, celebrated news announced today by Gov. Josh Shapiro and Eli Lilly that the major pharmaceutical company will build a multi-billion-dollar facility in Upper Macungie Township.
Schlossberg has been working with state and local leaders to create good-paying jobs in the Lehigh Valley.
“Today’s announcement reinforces the hard work we have all been doing in the Lehigh Valley to position our region for competition in the 21st century,” Schlossberg said. “The Life Sciences sector provides high-paying jobs that sustain families and communities, builds robust research and development for modern advancement, and sends ripples into the surrounding region, generating other business growth opportunities that in turn spur entrepreneurship.
“For decades now, leaders across our region have committed to crossing the partisan divide to show that the Lehigh Valley is open for business, that our neighbors are up to the task of helping to grow your company, and that the quality of life will attract and retain the best and brightest. I am thrilled Eli Lilly has the confidence in the Lehigh Valley to make such a monumental investment. Every leader of the Lehigh Valley who has committed and worked to positioning our home for this opportunity should be proud of this moment,” he said.
