Webster commends $63,000 grant to improve accessibility of Collegeville Community Park

HARRISBURG, Sept. 20 – State Rep. Joe Webster, D-Montgomery, today announced the awarding of $63,000 in Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program funding to enhance accessibility at the Collegeville Community Park.

According to Webster, the funding was made available through the Commonwealth Financing Authority and will be used to offset the cost of adding an accessible walkway to the basketball and hockey courts, while also repairing and resurfacing the courts in an effort to make them safer.

“These improvements to Collegeville Community Park will ensure that it is accessible for all residents, so that everyone can enjoy all that it has to offer,” Webster said. “I'm proud to support Collegeville Borough's commitment to outdoor recreation and shared community space.

“I applaud this funding and look forward to seeing these envisioned projects become a reality,” he added.

Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program funds can be used to develop, rehabilitate and improve public parks, recreation areas, greenways, trails and river conservation.
