Williams: 200K in state funding awarded in 74th Legislative District

HARRISBURG, Sept. 20 – State Rep. Dan Williams, D-Chester, today announced that $200,000 in state funding was awarded to support watershed restoration and trail design projects in the 74th Legislative District.

Funding was granted through the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Williams said $50,000 came by way of the CFA’s Greenways, Trails and Recreations Program and will support the engineering and design of segment five of the Beaver Creek Trail in Caln Township. The remaining $150,000 was awarded through the CFA’s Watershed Restoration Protection Program and is earmarked for the restoration of an unnamed tributary to the West Branch Brandywine Creek in South Coatesville Borough.

“Elevating and expanding our trails and greenways in Chester County is what makes our community a go-to spot for outdoor recreation. The same can be said for our creeks and waterways,” Williams said. “This funding is crucial to the upkeep and maintenance of our local environment, and my office will continue to push forward in advocating for this type of funding for the future.
