Dukes: Over $100,000 in tax credits awarded to support Butler County programs

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Oct. 22 – Today, Rep. Brandon Dukes announced that $107,250 in Neighborhood Assistance Program investments will go toward community revitalization projects in his district.

Inspired Hearts and Hands, Inc., located in Cranberry Township, received $74,750 in NAP investments to provide approximately 1,917 additional food distributions to economically disadvantaged households throughout Butler County. Another $32,500 will go toward Nonprofit Development Corporation to provide no-cost critical repairs to income-constrained older adult homeowners in Butler County, making homes safer and more accessible.

NAP provides tax credits to businesses that contribute to nonprofit organizations’ efforts to revitalize communities. Businesses can receive tax credits of up to 95% on contributions they make to a qualifying community project. Categories of projects under NAP include affordable housing programs, community services, crime prevention, education, job training and neighborhood assistance.

“I’d like to thank the commonwealth for supporting our local fight against food insecurity and supporting safer homes in our communities,” Dukes said. “We’re making the necessary investments to ensure no resident of Butler County goes without food or without an accessible roof over their head.”
