It was an honor to join Senator Art Haywood on Good Day Philadelphia to discuss new anti-hazing legislation after a recent incident at a local high school.
Look here for our statement on hazing legislation that we worked to pass.

We had the pleasure of meeting local artist, Jeffrey Morett, this week. See below for samples of his artwork!

With Halloween just around the corner, the Pennsylvania Insurance Department is reminding families to take a few extra precautions.
Make sure costumes fit properly and don't block children's vision, carry flashlights when trick-or-treating, and use sidewalks and crosswalks. Homeowners should keep walkways clear and well-lit, while drivers should slow down and watch for trick-or-treaters.
A little preparation goes a long way in keeping the holiday fun and safe for everyone!

Feeling Spooked? Help Is Just 3 Digits Away ??
|
Halloween can be scary, but knowing where to turn for help shouldn't be. Whether you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, facing an emergency, or struggling to afford basic necessities, these three-digit numbers can connect you with support.
- 911 | Life-Threatening Emergencies: Call 911 for immediate police, fire, or medical emergencies.
- 988 | Mental Health Crisis Support: Call or text 988 for free, confidential support during a mental health, emotional, or substance use crisis. You don't have to be suicidal to reach out.
- 211 | Help With Basic Needs: Call 211 to connect with local resources for housing, food assistance, utility bills, health care, and other essential needs.
Save these numbers and share them with friends, family, and neighbors. A little information can go a long way in helping someone get the support they need.

Our veterans have given so much to our communities, and I want to make sure they know about the resources and support available to them. That’s why I’m bringing together organizations from across the region for our Veterans Resource Fair this November.
Join me on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Jenkintown to connect with state, local, and federal agencies and organizations that offer a range of services and resources for veterans and their families. My office will also be there to help with state-related resources and services.
Come out, ask questions, make connections, and learn what’s available to you.
RSVP here.

Congratulations! You've reached the end of the weekly email.
Did you know? Pennsylvania had a witch trial nine years before Salem. In 1683, Margaret Mattson was accused of bewitching her neighbors’ cattle and stood trial before William Penn himself in Philadelphia!
