PA Representative Gina Curry banner image

Hello Neighbors, Community Members and Friends,

This week we mourned the loss of the Rev. Jesse Jackson, a fearless changemaker who didn’t stand for mediocrity and fought courageously for justice.

I had the honor of meeting him during a Capitol visit a little over a year ago. Shaking the hand of a man who inspired so many of us to step up and dedicate our lives to lifting our communities is a memory I will always hold close to my heart as I continue to serve my community

With his death, we lose a significant voice in the fight to protect the vulnerable, underrepresented, and underserved. May his influence live on for generations to come.

In service,

Gina H. Curry

State Representative

164th Legislative District

We had an amazing turnout for our
Black & Diverse Business Forum today!

I love supporting our small business community with events like today’s Black & Diverse Business Forum, and each of you who came today is an inspiration. The integrity, engagement and focus I saw today shows exactly how you’re going to use what you learned to help your businesses thrive.

Thank you to everyone who brought this event to life, to keynote speaker Dr. Nicole Rayfield, CEO and Founder of Polish Me Unbothered, and to all of you for taking advantage of this learning experience.

As always, you can reach out to my office to learn about business resources, or to find out when we’ll host our next events!

A fond farewell to Aignèr Cleveland

Aignèr Cleveland has been working with state Sen. Tim Kearney four years, most recently as his communications director, and today she celebrated her last day on his staff at our Black and Diverse Business Forum. We wish her the very best!

Upper Darby Small Business Empowerment Hub opening celebration

Today's focus was on small business, and I was excited to attend the Upper Darby Small Business Empowerment Hub announcement and celebration this afternoon at the Upper Darby Township Building.

Upper Darby Township has allocated $4.8 million for small business resources, grants, and business corridor revitalization, made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act. The new hub will provide expert technical support in business planning, implementing financial systems, marketing and sales strategies, and staffing and operations.

When our small businesses succeed, the whole community benefits, and this will be an important resource for every small business in Upper Darby!

NAACP Philadelphia Gala

I had the honor of attending the NAACP Philadelphia Branch Gala last Thursday evening. It was great to be in the audience to see this year's amazing recipients of the Freedom Fund Award. Congratulations to all the honorees!
