Thank you to everyone who came out to our Sickle Cell Blood Drive yesterday afternoon!
We’re already in a national blood supply shortage. But blood donations that match for people living with Sickle Cell Disease are even harder to come by. Your participation helps fill a critical need in emergency rooms nationwide.

Next week we’re partnering with Sen. Kearney and Rep. Heather Boyd to bring you another great event: our Senior Expo! We’re holding it at the Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, September 10. If you’re not a senior yourself, be sure to tell the seniors you know about it! This is a great way for them to connect with local organizations that support residents through all stages of aging and to meet neighbors and socialize!

Late last month we sent every home in our district a postcard about Inspi-HER'd, my annual Field Day for Girls.
Unfortunately, we missed a typo and it incorrectly says the event is taking place in 2025 instead of 2026.
I promise we haven't figured out how to travel back in time! The event is taking place Saturday, September 26, 2026.

In observance of Labor Day, our office will close at NOON today, Friday, September 4, and remain closed on Monday, September 7. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8 for our usual working hours.

Proud to support workers on the issues that matter
|
As Labor Day approaches, I’m proud to say that my House colleagues and I have been fighting for PA workers on the issues that really matter. Here are just a few bills that we’ve advanced:
- A higher minimum wage of $15 per hour.
- Paid family and medical leave for PA workers.
- Unemployment compensation for striking workers in PA.
- OSHA standards for Pennsylvania’s public workers.
- Requirements aimed at preventing workplace violence in the healthcare sector.
I’ve also supported recent state budgets that help eligible working families keep more of what they earn and make significant investments in workforce training, apprenticeships, and career pathways.
I greatly appreciate the contributions that all of our workers make to our communities and economy. You deserve respect and recognition for your hard work, and I hope you’re able to take the day to relax and recharge this Labor Day.

The region’s getting ready for Inspi-HER’d 2026 with KYW!

Yesterday, Team Curry had the opportunity to join award-winning host and anchor Raquel Williams at KYW Newsradio for Bridging Philly!
Along with my district office director Cintia and youth representative Rowan Curry, we talked about the vision behind Inspi-HER'd as we celebrate the program's 5th anniversary and shared a sneak peek of what's coming this year!
We also discussed the PA 2026-2027 budget, continued investments in the 988 Crisis Lifeline, youth mental health, and the importance of keeping our young people well, connected, and inspired to be their very best selves.

Meeting with KenCrest SWIFT for Preschools
|
Representatives from KenCrest’s SWIFT program came to visit to discuss the current state of suspension and expulsion statistics in daycares across the county. We also talked about the renewal of Rapid Response funding, which is scheduled to expire in December.

Great things in the works with the PA Breast Cancer Coalition!
|
Earlier this week I also visited with the PA Breast Cancer Coalition to speak with them about legislation that improves every Pennsylvania woman’s ability to access breast cancer screening and diagnostic tests. Their interview will be unveiled at their annual Pink Ribbon Awards Luncheon in Harrisburg this October! I’ll be sure to share it with you when it’s available.
For now, please know that I’m grateful for every opportunity that I have to work with dedicated advocates to improve women’s health and wellness in our community. I've worked hard on legislation to move the needle on early detection and breast cancer care, including Act 52 of 2025, which requires insurers to cover diagnostic breast imaging.
