Dear Neighbor,
It’s just like 2018 again! The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions, and the city is hosting a parade today, Friday, Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to approximately 3:15 p.m. SEPTA trains will operate on a modified schedule, free of charge – that includes buses and regional rail. More information is available here. I encourage you to go and show your support for our team and our region… responsibly, of course.
I am also pleased to say that a federal judge has approved a plan for Crozer Health to remain open and be turned over to a “receiver” for 30 days. This receiver, called FTI Consulting, will take over Crozer temporarily and ensure continuity of service until Crozer can be sold to an appropriate nonprofit organization.
That being said, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office is still monitoring this process every step of the way, as am I and my fellow legislators in the Southeast. Patients and staff alike have been terribly mistreated at the hands of Prospect, which prioritized money above all else and bled Crozer dry. Our community deserves better.
Lastly, my office will be closed on Monday, Feb. 17 in observance of Presidents Day.
Sincerely,
