Delloso announces grant for nearly $400K for Ridley Township

RIDLEY PARK, Aug. 17 – State Rep. Dave Delloso announced Monday a grant for $398,340 has been approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority for Ridley Township for sewer improvements.

“State money will allow Ridley Township to make the necessary updates it needs to correct the recurring backups that have affected members of our community,” Delloso said. “My office remains open to all local municipalities and authorities looking to find a state grant or program to help fix a problem in our neighborhoods.”

Ridley Township will use the grant to reline 700 feet of 10-inch pipe, reline 4,340 feet of 8-inch pipe and reestablish lateral connections. The project is meant to correct inflow and infiltration issues that have caused sewer backup issues in residential properties following storms and severe weather.

The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved the grant Monday afternoon. The funds are part of H2O PA, established by the General Assembly in July 2008 to provide grants for the construction of drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer projects. The act also authorizes projects for the construction and renovation of flood control projects and the repair or rehabilitation of unsafe dams.
