Delloso applauds investment in Glenolden Community Park

GLENOLDEN, Dec. 30 – State Rep. Dave Delloso, D-Delaware, announced today that $222,600 was awarded to Glenolden borough for restoration and development around the Muckinipates Creek in Glenolden Community Park.

The funds come as a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Recreation.

“We’re so lucky to have a beautiful waterway like the Muckinipates Creek in Glenolden Community Park,” Delloso said. “The addition of walking paths near the creek give an opportunity for visitors to admire the beauty of nature in a new way.”

Delloso says work in the park will be focused on restoring 400 feet of the Muckinpates Creek, including streambank stabilization, installation of stormwater management measures, construction of a boardwalk and pedestrian walkways, ADA access, landscaping and other improvements.

The awarded funds are part of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Grant Program, which allocated from the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund to award this grant.
