Green announces funding for community improvement projects
Nearly $1.6 million across four projects in North & West Philadelphia

HARRISBURG, Dec. 19 – State Rep. Roni Green, D-Phila. announced that four projects in her district have been awarded a total of nearly $1.6 million in funding through the Local Share Account program from the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
The projects are as follows:
- $700,000 to Share Food Program, Inc. for upgrades to their flagship warehouse in North Philadelphia.
- $450,000 to replace safety surfacing and playground equipment within the play area at Smith Memorial Playground.
- $390,811 for the Inglis House Capital Improvements project for repairs and upgrades to the Inglis House residential facility for people with disabilities.
- $43,000 to the City Avenue Special Services District of Philadelphia and Lower Merion for the purchase of a truck to provide greater visibility for the Community Service Representatives team and to ensure their safety during inclement weather and times of increased traffic.
Green applauded the Commonwealth Financing Authority for these awards that are a major source of assistance for so many Philadelphians.
“I’m so thankful to the CFA for their support of these much-needed community improvement projects. These organizations do so much for our communities, so I’m happy to be able to announce and support this funding that is a direct investment to improve the quality of life for some of our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Green.
The PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects in the public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Eligible projects include acquisition, construction, renovation and rehabilitation, demolition, infrastructure, purchase of vehicles, machinery and equipment, planning, consulting and design costs related to projects, engineering, and some administrative costs.
