Malagari announces $850,000 grant for Hatfield Township

HATFIELD, Oct. 26 – State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, today announced an award in the amount of $850,000 for the renovation of the Hatfield Township Municipal Authority Building.

“After working to help secure this funding, it’s great to see that it has been approved and that we can get started on this project,” Malagari said. “Hatfield needs an administration building that can support the needs of its citizens. I’m glad we are getting the resources we need to make it happen.”

“The Hatfield Township Municipal Authority serves five municipalities across Montgomery and Bucks Counties, including four in my district,” said Senator Collett. “The public works and other employees who work there are the epitome of essential workers, but their facilities are in desperate need of upgrading. I was pleased to work with Representative Malagari to bring $850,000 in state funding to construct a secured lobby, a conference room to host trainings and serve as an emergency management hub, ADA-accessible restrooms and more to support this growing, diverse community.”

Renovations include an addition to the current Municipal Authority administration building & select renovations to the existing building.

The project will use funds to construct a secured lobby area and an open “flex” space for visitors. There will also be an addition of a large conference room where the township can host seminars.

The renovations to the current building include updating the kitchen, installing a break room area, upgrades to the facility's DEP Accredited laboratory, and the addition of a lounge with men's and women's shower facilities with ADA-accessible restrooms.
