McNeill, Boscola postpone Senior Fair

WHITEHALL, April 2 – In an effort to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus known as COVID-19 and to adhere to Gov. Tom Wolf’s Stay-at-Home order for the commonwealth, state Rep. Jeanne McNeill and state Sen. Lisa Boscola announced today their annual Senior Fair, scheduled for April 17, is postponed until a yet-to-be determined date.

“Because Pennsylvania is under a statewide Stay-at-Home order, and since our event is so popular with seniors throughout the area, we decided it was better to postpone it rather than cancel it outright,” McNeill said. “This will give everyone the opportunity to stay home and stay safe, yet visit us later when we’ll have all of the great resources that our Senior Fair has become known for in previous years.”

When the free annual event is rescheduled, it will take place at the Whitehall Mall.

“Seniors are at higher risk of contracting this coronavirus, and we encourage our seniors and all Pennsylvanians to stay indoors and away from others as much as possible,” Boscola said. “We will make sure the rescheduled date of this year’s Senior Fair is adequately advertised ahead of time, so no senior misses out on the valuable information that is available through local organizations and county, state and federal agencies.”

Both legislators’ offices are continuing to serve the public, with staff available in their district offices to answer questions and concerns from area residents via telephone. Walk-ins are not currently permitted in either legislator’s office.
