McNeill: $200K state grant will benefit Coplay Borough

WHITEHALL, April 15 – A state grant totaling $200,000 will aid Coplay Borough in completing several projects, announced state Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-Lehigh.

“This investment comes at a time when Coplay Borough is continuing to make improvements to our community, despite the many challenges and other negative, unanticipated impacts of the ongoing pandemic,” McNeill said. “I’m pleased to have been able to work on a local level and then as an advocate in Harrisburg to ensure these efforts are realized.”

According to McNeill, the funding allocation comes from the Department of Community and Economic Development and will be used for the following:

  • $100,000 to address contaminated soil at the new public works construction site.
  • $95,000 to replace/repair the borough building roof.
  • $5,000 for an audit.

“I’m always ready and willing to work with local leaders and organizations to seek out funding opportunities to bring back to the local communities,” McNeill said. “When we can help foster new projects, or make investments in our neighborhoods, we’re making investments in the future of Lehigh County.”
