More than $141,000 to fund projects in Whitehall Township, Coplay Borough

State Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-Lehigh, today announced two Commonwealth Financing Authority awards totaling $141,056 to Whitehall Township and Coplay Borough. The funding is through the Blight Remediation Program, created under the CFA in 2019.

“Today’s announcement shows a continued commitment to our communities here in Lehigh County and across the commonwealth,” McNeill said. “It’s these type of projects that are actually long-term investments in our neighborhoods – investments that enrich our lives, improve our safety and set us on a course for generations to follow.”

Awards have been granted as follows:

  • $81,422 to Coplay Borough for the purchase of playground equipment at Saylor Park and the Tot Lot.
  • $59,634 to Whitehall Township for the renovation and preservation of the historic house on the Mickey Prydun Farm.

According to McNeill, in May 2020, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development issued the guidelines for the new reimbursable grant program.
