Ciresi praises COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program

HARRISBURG, March 2 – In response to this afternoon’s announcement from Gov. Tom Wolf and other legislators highlighting the COVID-19 Hospitality Industry Recovery Program, state Rep. Joe Ciresi, D-Montgomery, reemphasized his dedication to assisting the hospitality industry in its ongoing fight out of the pandemic-caused crisis.

“The financial commitment outlined at today’s news conference falls in line with legislation I’ve been pushing since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, legislation that would provide, has provided and will continue to provide desperately needed help to restaurants and local businesses struggling for the better part of a year,” Ciresi said. “I offer my full support for the Hospitality Industry Recovery Program to offer the crucial support to hotels, restaurants, bars and taverns that have suffered a decline in revenue in 2020 and are the lifeblood of communities across the commonwealth.”

The Hospitality Industry Recovery Program is the result of the passage earlier this year of S.B. 109, which Wolf quickly signed into law. It directs $912 million in COVID-19 relief to restaurants, schools, employers, tenants and landlords.
