ALLENTOWN, July 16 – State Rep. Ana T. Tiburcio, D-Lehigh, today announced $750,000 in Redevelopment Assistance Capitol Program grant funding for Allentown community improvement projects.
The awards for Tiburcio’s District are as follows:
- $500,000 for the Allentown Art Museum to support site preparation and new museum construction, including acquisition, demolition, cleanup, engineering, machinery and equipment.
- $250,000 to the Salvation Army Allentown for roof repairs, main entry renovations and HVAC upgrades to the building.
“I am proud to announce RACP funding towards these important community projects,” said Tiburcio. “The Allentown Art Museum has been a staple of our art scene for over 90 years, displaying over 13,000 pieces of art from 2,000 years of history. The museum also offers great summer programs and workshops for families, youth, adults and communities. This new construction project will ensure our community continues to visit the museum, attend these programs, and enjoy incredible art, artifacts, exhibits, education and more for years to come.
“And I am thrilled to see funding for the Salvation Army, which assists our community in so many ways. Anyone who comes to the Salvation Army for food, shelter, clothes and other essentials, as well as the incredible volunteers, will greatly appreciate the roof repairs, renovations and HVAC upgrades.”
RACP is a grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. More information can be found here.
