Ensure You Have a Plan to Vote

Monday is the last day to register to vote, and it is important that every eligible voter be heard at the ballot box.

You can check your voter registration, find your polling place, or sign up to vote here by October 19, and request a mail-in or absentee ballot here by October 27.

Polls will be open on Tuesday, November 3 from 7 AM – 8 PM.

If you have a mail-in ballot, there are several ballot return sites available throughout the county, including one in our community at the North Park Ice Rink (1200 Pearce Mill Road, Wexford). You can find the full list of dates and locations for ballot return sites here.

Supporting our First Responders – and other District Updates

I visited the Peebles District Volunteer Fire Company this week to see their new LIFEPAK monitor and defibrillator, which they received through a state grant I championed, and to meet with our amazing volunteer firefighters to learn how else I can be of assistance.

It is a privilege to work with and support our first responders in my roles as an ER doc and a legislator. Thank you for your selfless service to our community.

As a physician-legislator, I strongly believe that physicians must be active in advocating for their patients, communities, and profession. I was grateful for the opportunity to speak with medical students from the University of Pittsburgh about the healthcare issues facing Pennsylvania and how they can advocate effectively on these concerns.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the annual Dhol Baaje Community Garba organized by Ritu Vaidya, which brought together our region’s Indian American community and friends for an evening of dance, food, and festivities.

Pittsburgh is fortunate to have so many people of different ethnicities who have come together to create such a vibrant mix of cultures; the Indian American community is no exception. My family and I were happy to celebrate at this event with our fellow Indian Americans.

I joined bipartisan colleagues from the House and Senate at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden’s legislative breakfast. I am proud to support this critical regional asset and its work to make nature accessible to the public.

I joined representatives from legislative offices for a roundtable discussion hosted by Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disability to discuss the impact of state policies on meeting the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.

I will continue to prioritize policies to make sure everyone in this population and their families can live to their full potential.

Congrats to our Local Student Golfers

Our local community saw two section wins in WPIAL boys golf, with the North Allegheny team winning Section III in Class 3A and the Avonworth team winning Section IV in Class 2A. Congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment!

Opportunity for Student Artists

Allegheny County students have a chance to design the county’s next “I Voted” sticker.

The Allegheny County Elections Division is accepting submissions for its second annual “I Voted” sticker contest. The winning design will be featured on stickers available to voters during the 2027 primary and general elections.
