Kulik announces $800,000 in state funding for Coraopolis roadway and sidewalk improvements

CORAOPOLIS, Nov. 19 – Coraopolis was awarded $800,000 in grant funding for a project that would reconstruct a deteriorated portion of Main Street to make it safer and more accessible for pedestrians and drivers, state Rep. Anita Kulik, D-Allegheny, announced today.
Kulik said the project would reconstruct the brick roadway, install new sidewalks and ADA compliant ramps along Main Street from Sixth Avenue to Neely Heights Avenue. The Commonwealth Financing Authority awarded the funding through its Multimodal Transportation Program.
“This state grant will allow for a major project to improve Coraopolis’s brick Main Street, which will help improve safety for pedestrians and drivers alike,” said Kulik. “I want to congratulate the borough for securing this grant and I look forward to seeing this project completed.”
CFA Multimodal Transportation Funds may be used for the development, rehabilitation, and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.
