Be on the Lookout for Imposter Utility Workers

PGW is warning customers to “be sure before you open the door” and verify the identity of anyone coming to your house claiming to be a utility worker.  

If someone knocks on your door claiming to be from PGW, always ask them to show identification. If you’re unsure whether the person is legitimate, call 911 immediately. The Philadelphia Police Department has a direct line to PGW and can verify a person’s claim that they are with PGW. 

Don’t fall for scammers — All PGW workers have ID badges, and clothing and cars clearly branded with PGW logos.
