Hello, Lehigh County! Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Ana T. Tiburcio, and I am thrilled to be your new State Representative! I won a special election on February 24. I am taking over for Josh Siegel, who resigned to become the Lehigh County Executive.

It is an honor to serve the people of Salisbury Township and Allentown, where I’ve lived for nearly three decades. I previously served on the Allentown School District Board of Directors. I am the owner of A&M Tax & Services and am involved with Allentown Works and the Allentown city beautification project Love Your Block. And I was part of Allentown Blueprint Communities . You can learn more about me on my webpage!

It’s an honor to continue my work promoting education, youth empowerment, employment opportunities, and community revitalization in the 22nd Legislative District.

Rep. Jen Mazzocco from Allegheny County took the oath of office alongside me. We now have the most women lawmakers in the history of the state House!

Feel free to contact me! My district office phone number is 484-656-7744. You can also reach out to me via email at RepTiburcio@pahouse.net.

Committee Assignments

In my first week, I was assigned to four House committees: Environmental & Natural Resource Protection, Gaming Oversight, Housing & Community Development, and Intergovernmental Affairs & Operations. These committees reflect my priorities as Lehigh County’s State Representative.

I am excited to work with my fellow members on these committees to address the needs of our community and improve the quality of life for the people of my district! It is also such an honor to be welcomed into the Legislative Latino Caucus!

Delivering for You in Harrisburg

In my first session, my House colleagues and I passed important bills that will help our neighbors and improve our communities:

We supported our veterans by expanding property tax relief for disabled veterans (HB 1257) and improving trauma-informed care for veterans who have experienced military sexual trauma (HB 2024).

We protected consumers by requiring insurers to inform homeowner’s insurance buyers when policies don’t cover flood loss (HB 1718).

We improved railroad safety by prohibiting trains from blocking crossings in a way that delays emergency responders, limiting train length, expanding the number of workers and the use of safety monitoring systems and strengthening oversight of hazardous materials transported (HB 1191).

We passed a bill to raise the minimum wage in Pennsylvania, which is long overdue (HB 2189).

We voted to codify marriage equality and redefine marriage as "a civil contract between two individuals" instead of "one man and one woman" (HB 1800).

Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit

You could qualify for a new tax credit! The Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit automatically provides an additional 10% savings on your state taxes if you qualify for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit.

Additionally, if your household has expenses for child or dependent care, you may benefit from the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit.

My First Housing and Community Development Committee Meeting!

On March 26, I attended my first Housing and Community Development Committee meeting! Hosted by Rep. Tara Probst, it was an informational session on Workforce Housing and Attainable Housing. We discussed legislation aimed at supporting housing affordability.

Affordable housing is one of my top priorities as your State Representative. At the meeting, we learned about housing issues in the Poconos and potential solutions. People across Pennsylvania are facing similar challenges, and I look forward to working with my fellow state legislators to address these concerns.

Dominican Leaders Forum

I had the honor of attending the first Dominican Leaders Forum in NYC, which aimed to strengthen connections among fellow Dominican American leaders. I’m proud to be the first Hispanic state legislator representing Allentown and the city’s large Hispanic population—the second largest in Pennsylvania! As a legislator, my priority is to protect and uplift all members of our community, ensuring every voice is heard and every resident is treated with fairness and respect.

It was so inspiring to be around so many fellow Dominican American leaders!

Allentown Easter Egg Hunts

I always enjoy participating in the Easter egg hunts in Allentown! Events like this remind me how strong and connected our community truly is. I loved seeing neighbors come together to make the day so special. There’s nothing more joyful than the excitement on children’s faces as they run through the grass, baskets in hand, laughing, playing, and celebrating together. It’s wonderful to see families creating memories and sharing simple moments of happiness.

One of my favorite moments at Midtown Manor was getting the chance to climb the fire truck ladder and toss candy. This is a tradition the kids look forward to every year. I want to thank the organizers and the Allentown Fire Department for helping make this day so memorable for our families.

I’m so grateful to be part of a tradition that brings so much light and joy to our city!

AAPI Women's Equal Pay Day

This Thursday, April 9, is AAPI Women’s Equal Pay Day. On average, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women earn only 83 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men. As your State Representative, I will advocate to ensure equal pay for all.
