Reminders about May 19 primary election; Governor's Residence in Harrisburg open for tours

Tina Davis reports that voters in in the May 19 primary will cast ballots to nominate candidates for county and local offices, as well as seats on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Superior Court and Commonwealth Court. Sample ballots and polling locations are available online. Davis votes to advance property tax relief

Rep. Tina Davis voted for a proposal to provide property tax relief to long-suffering homeowners so the issue remains in the legislative spotlight during upcoming budget negotiations. Davis, Sims to reintroduce equal-pay bill as part of Pa. Agenda for Women's Health

State Reps. Tina Davis, D-Bucks, and Brian Sims, D-Phila., are reintroducing equal-pay legislation as part of the bipartisan "Pennsylvania Agenda for Women's Health" unveiled by the legislature's Women’s Health Caucus. H.B. 1160 would narrow the definition of determining factors for pay to education, training or experience, while also lifting the veil of pay secrecy and creating protections that permit employees to inquire about salaries without fear of termination. Armed Forces Day is Saturday: Take time to thank our military

Measures honoring Det. Sgt. George Stuckey advance; Legislation would name part of Bath Road for slain Bristol Township officer

Rep. Tina Davis has helped advance two pieces of legislation that would name a segment of Bath Road in Bristol Township as the Sergeant George Stuckey Memorial Road. Det. Stuckey, a seven-year veteran of the Bristol Township Police Force, was the first police officer in Bucks County to be killed in the line of duty when he was shot to death on March 29, 1972, while trying to stop five suspected bank robbers. Grants available to catch illegal dumpers

Rep. Tina Davis notes that municipalities and nonprofits can now apply for grants for surveillance cameras to help catch illegal dumpers. If approved for a grant, a municipality or nonprofit will get a set of surveillance cameras, and help on installing and using them to catch dumpers. Grantees also will have the option of purchasing the cameras at the end of the grant period. Read more
