Pa. House Democratic Leader Joanna McClinton joined Mayor Jim Kenney, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell, Rebuild Philadelphia Executive Director Kira Strong, and other community leaders to present a $4.5 million grant to Francis J. Myers Recreation Center. The grant was awarded through the state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program and will be used to invest in: environmental remediation to the site, significant improvements to the recreation center and gymnasium, updated plumbing, mechanical systems, and electrical, including fire alarm and fire protection, increased building accessibility, including an elevator, and additional field and site improvements.
